The last years, i feel that i come closer to people, places and situations, that talk to my soul, my mind and my heart. Myself was hidden in myself. Weird but it happens. 

This is what happened with Nisyros island. The energy of the volcano in combination with the powerful look & feel of its raw places, are connected with my inner self. I feel like all the parts of this little volcanic island are accidentally and at the same time strategically placed composing an authentic beauty.

This is what happened when i heard that a man, although his origin isn't from Nisyros, he loved the island so much where he bought a little house there. This man is the actor, director and acting teacher Yorgos Karamihos.  A human that from the moment i met him i felt his authentic and deep energy. A human that transfers all of his values, high perceptivity and creativity throughout his life.  A human that for sure i wanted to share with us some of his thoughts. 



Evi Alexaki asks: Looking at the photo below, what are you thinking?

Y.Karamihos answers: Strangely, i don't reminisce the moments i've lived in this landscape, nor i am thinking how much i want to go back. This picture, as well as every reminiscence of Nisyros island makes me feel present, wherever i am. It makes me clash again with the demons of my choices. In other words, it makes my dream, a truth.




Evi Alexaki asks: Υou have travelled in so many places, all over the world. What makes you to return in Nisyros Island, every year?

Y.Karamihos answers: The cure. Nisyros island cures me due to its volcano and its authentic people. My body gets calmed and grounded. It's one of the few places, where i don't miss anything.

Evi Alexaki asks: Do you believe that elements of your character, fit with elements of Nisyros island?

Y.Karamihos answers: Absolutely. Nisyros island is part of my identity.

Evi Alexaki asks: What raises your serotonin? Apart from Nisyros : )

Y.karamihos answers : The risk. The coordination and conspiracy with the people i love. The creativity of exploration. And love. There i rest.


*Yorgos Karamihos is an actor, director and acting teacher, born and raised in Greece. He graduated the Philosophy and History Department of Ionian University and The Greek National Theatre Academy. In 2012 he received a Fulbright Scholarship as an exceptional artist to attend the fulltime program at Stella Adler Acting Academy in Los Angeles. As an actor he held lead roles in more than 40 theatre plays of a range repertoire including ancient Greek dramas, Shakespeare, A.Checkov, T. Williams, F.Vendekind etc. He has also appeared in over 30 feature films and 12 TV series. Since 2008 he has directed 11 theatre plays in several major venues. He was awarded as the best stage actor of Greece in 2008. He has translated from English, French and Spanish into Greek and published several theatre plays. He is also known for supporting charitable institutions such as Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece, The Smile Of The Child, Animal Welfare Organizations etc. He has been teaching acting on stage and in front of the camera using his own technique based on animal archetypes for the last 12 years in various Acting schools and healing centers in Greece and at The Stella Adler Acting Academy-Los Angeles/US. He lives in Lo Angeles and has two children.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια, νιώθω ότι έρχομαι όλο και πιο κοντά σε άτομα, μέρη και καταστάσεις, που μιλούν στη ψυχή, στη καρδιά και στο μυαλό μου. Ο εαυτός μου ήταν κρυμμένος μέσα μου. Περίεργο αλλά συμβαίνει. 

Αυτό συνέβη και με τη Νίσυρο. Η ενέργεια του ηφαιστείου σε συνδυασμό με το ιδιαίτερο, δυναμικόκαι αυθεντικό ύφος του νησιού, έχουν συνδεθεί με τον πυρήνα μου. Ένα μικρό ηφαιστειακό νησί, όπου όλα του τα "κομμάτια" είναι τόσο τυχαία αλλά και παράλληλα στρατηγικά τοποθετημένα.

Αυτό συνέβη όταν άκουσα ότι ένας άντρας, αν και η καταγωγή του δεν ήταν από τη Νίσυρο, αγάπησε τόσο πολύ το νησί όπου αγόρασε εκεί σπίτι. Αυτός ο άνθρωπος είναι ο ηθοποιός, σκηνοθέτης και δάσκαλος υποκριτικής Γιώργος Καραμίχος. Ένας άνθρωπος που από τη στιγμή που τον γνώρισα, ένιωσα την αυθεντική του ενέργεια. Ένας άνθρωπος που μεταφέρει όλες τους τις αξίες, την υψηλή του αντίληψη και δημιουργικότητα σε όλο της μήκος και πλάτος της ζωής του. Ένας άνθρωπος, που σίγουρα ήθελα να μοιραστεί μαζί μας μερικές από τις σκέψεις του.



Evi Alexaki asks: Κοιτάζοντας την παρακάτω φωτογραφία, τι σκέφτεσαι; 

Γ. Καραμίχος: Περιέργως δεν αναπολώ τις στιγμές που έχω ζήσει σε αυτό ακριβώς το τοπίο, ούτε σκέφτομαι πόσο πολύ θέλω να ξαναπάω. Η εικόνα αυτή όπως και κάθε αναπόληση της Νισύρου, με κάνει να αισθάνομαι παρών όπου βρίσκομαι. Με κάνει να αναμετριέμαι και πάλι με τους δαίμονες των επιλογών μου. Με άλλα λόγια, κάνει την ονειροπόληση μου πραγματικότητα.



Evi Alexaki asks: Έχεις ταξιδέψει σε πολλά διαφορετικά μέρη, στον κόσμο. Τι είναι αυτό που σε κάνει να θέλεις να επιστρέφεις κάθε χρόνο στη Νίσυρο;

Γ. Καραμίχος: Η θεραπεία. Η Νίσυρος με το ηφαίστειο της και με τους αυθεντικούς ανθρώπους της, με θεραπεύει. Το σώμα μου ηρεμεί και γειώνεται. Είναι από τα ελάχιστα μέρη όπου δε μου λείπει τίποτε.

Evi Alexaki asks: Πιστεύεις ότι τα στοιχεία του χαρακτήρα σου, ταιριάζουν με τα στοιχεία του νησιού;

Γ.Καραμίχος: Απολύτως. Η Νίσυρος είναι μέρος της ταυτότητάς μου.

Evi Alexaki asks: Τι είναι αυτό, που ανεβάζει τη σεροτονίνη σου; Εκτός από τη Νίσυρο : )

Γ.Καραμίχος: Το ρίσκο. Ο συντονισμός και η συνομωσία με τα άτομα που αγαπώ. Η δημιουργικότητα της εξερεύνησης. Και ο έρωτας. Εκεί ξαποσταίνω.
